The court sentenced to two years in prison a 42-year-old resident of Kagarlyk, Kiev region, who in June of this year, while drunk, beat a local policeman with a chair in his office, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

It is noted that in the summer, patrol officers received a report of a family quarrel in the apartment. A drunken man came to his ex-wife to once again sort things out. The woman was forced to call the police.
When police officers arrived, the rowdy behaved aggressively, did not respond to comments and began to threaten law enforcement officers with physical violence. To stop the crime, police officers took him to the police station. While in the office, while compiling materials about an administrative offense of committing domestic violence, the man grabbed a chair and hit a police officer on the head with all his might. Subsequently, the senior police sergeant was taken to the hospital’s trauma department, where he was diagnosed with a laceration to the head and a concussion,” the report says.
On the same day, criminal proceedings were opened under Part 2 of Art. 345 of the Criminal Code.
