“During the control, the border guard drew attention to the fact that the passport bearer looked like a citizen of a neighboring state, who, on the initiative of the Federal Migration Service of Russia in the Krasnodar Territory, was denied entry into the territory of the Russian Federation,” the message says.
When asked by the controller whether he had changed his last name, the man said that he had not changed his last name, the passport of a citizen of Ukraine belongs to him and was received in October 2016 due to the loss of the previous document.
The investigation showed that a resident of Kherson, who in August last year, when crossing the state border at the MAPP, received a notice of a ban on visiting Russia until 2019, applied to the registry office of Novaya Kakhovka to change his last name and received a new passport as a citizen of Ukraine.
If a Ukrainian citizen is found guilty, he faces a fine of up to 300 thousand rubles or imprisonment for up to four years.
