Ukrainian tried to hide smuggled amber in a fire extinguisher
On the border with Poland, border guards found a Ukrainian who was trying to hide amber in a fire extinguisher, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the State Border Service of Ukraine.
It is reported that yesterday at the Shegini checkpoint on the border with Poland, border guards of the Mostysky detachment brought out a car driven by a Ukrainian for additional inspection.
“The day before, law enforcement officers received information from operational officers of the State Border Guard Service about the possible transportation of amber hidden from border and customs control by him (the Ukrainian). Having checked the foreign car together with customs officers, the border guards did not immediately find the hidden stones. After all, the 59-year-old Ukrainian packed it in an unusual hiding place, namely a fire extinguisher. From the cavity of the device, from which the extinguishing agent had been removed the day before, 5 kilograms of yellow stones of various geometric shapes and sizes were taken out,” the report says.
It is noted that an administrative report was drawn up against the offender, and the stones and fire extinguisher were confiscated.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, 11 bags of amber prepared for smuggling were found near the border with Romania.
