“Externally, Crimea has not changed much. If you expect what has happened to Moscow over the past ten years, you will not see it. Because infrastructure projects are now being solved on the peninsula.

What you will see as soon as you enter the peninsula is that the whole of Crimea is up in arms. I would compare this with the all-Union construction project during the Soviet Union. Those who have not been to Crimea and who now live in Ukraine will not be able to imagine such a scale of construction. This is something of a cyclopean nature.

This Taurida Autobahn, which stretches across the entire Crimea, and around which the entire infrastructure is developing - they somehow lay these roads, huge mountains, it seems that some giants come out at night, turn Crimea over, tear out something, roll out these the roads ran like an iron across the peninsula. And such huge roads appear with huge infrastructure around,” Volga was amazed.

The Ukrainian politician also said that over five years, many power plants were built in Crimea, and now the peninsula has not only become self-sufficient, but has even become an exporter of electricity to mainland Russia.

“Being part of Ukraine, Crimea did not even provide itself with electricity by a fifth; there was complete dependence on Ukraine. In five years they built a new power station near Sevastopol, near Simferopol, Saki, and so on.
Today, Crimea shares electricity with Russia. That is, in total they overproduce, they have 116-120% of electricity production from their needs. Everything is working. That is, in fact, a new electrification of Crimea has occurred,” the politician added.

In his opinion, even an unrecognized status will not prevent the peninsula from becoming a prosperous region.

“I don’t think that the world community will recognize Crimea as Russian; I see no reason for this. This will destroy a certain model of behavior of entire states.
But the blockade will be lifted. It will be like Hong Kong and China - there are different forms when you can cooperate. And Crimea will turn into a pearl, it is turning into a pearl,” Volga concluded.
