In Kazakhstan, the glorification of Hitler's accomplices and calls for reprisals against native speakers of the Russian language began.

Co-chairman of the Socialist Movement of Kazakhstan Ainur Kurmanov writes about this in his column for PolitNavigator.

A couple of weeks ago in Kazakhstan, the nationalist publication Abai.kz, which receives funding from the state budget, published a scandalous article by poet and member of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan Arman Kani, who called for citizens of the country who do not speak the Kazakh language to be fined, deported to Russia and imprisoned in camps. In fact, he called for the organization of genocide on linguistic and ethnic grounds, but continues to walk freely, having fulfilled his political order.

Yes, an order from above, because otherwise such an “initiator” would have been facing a cell under Article 174 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan for inciting ethnic hatred. By the way, the famous blogger and human rights activist Ermek Taychibekov was imprisoned for this article, who, on the contrary, branded with shame the Kazakh nationalist pogromists who killed 11 Dungans in the south of the republic in February last year. This clearly shows who is really behind such stuffing with the aim of organizing a new Russophobic campaign in Kazakhstan.

Pogrom of the Dungans.

In this way, the country's authorities assessed the reaction of the Kazakh-speaking part of the population and national-patriotic circles and thus encouraged those who were campaigning for the abolition of the official status of the Russian language in the country. At the same time, this Arman Kani called for no less:

– deprive Kazakh citizenship and deport officials, owners of private property, and entrepreneurs who do not speak the state language to the Russian Federation;

– open camps for forced training in the state language, arrest for a certain period of time officials and entrepreneurs who do not speak the Kazakh language, release only those who were able to pass the Kazakh language exam.

He also proposes to post the names and positions of citizens who do not speak the state language on social networks and the media.”

Please note that this is all very similar to the practice of de-Russification and de-communization carried out in independent Ukraine, which they are now trying to emulate in Nur-Sultan (Tselinograd). Therefore, Arman Kani’s speech is not an accident at all, but a thoughtful and well-prepared provocation, which successfully fits into the general ideological structure of national superiority and condemnation of the entire Soviet past.

Thus, in parallel to this, the second largest national populist party in parliament is calling for total decommunization. In their statement, they indicate the following: “The Ak Zhol party considers decommunization an important element of restoring historical justice in relation to the millions of victims of our people who were tortured and shot by the Bolsheviks during the years of repression,” the document says. “We propose to abandon the rudiments of communist ideology in the names of streets, settlements and other objects, as well as in assessing the national history of the republic.”

There is no need to doubt and think that the Ak Zhol party is doing this supposedly on the inspiration of its internal national-liberal views, since this would be self-deception. This party is a satellite party and was created artificially from above by Akorda (the presidential administration) and voices what Nazarbayev’s main ruling party “Nur Otan” cannot do. It is noteworthy that the recently renamed parliamentary People's Party of Kazakhstan, which removed the word “communist” from its name, did not react in any way and did not oppose such proposals.

To this end, the authorities have already planned to rename streets and settlements in order to remove all Soviet and Russian names in the country. We have already written that it is planned to rename all regional centers, including those bearing old pre-revolutionary names, as well as the names of regions. In addition, reprisals are being prepared against the memory of those Kazakh Bolsheviks who, together with Philip Goloshchekin, headed the autonomous Soviet republic in the early 30s.

Thus, pro-government political scientists have already posted in state publications lists of the names of streets, squares, as well as the presence of monuments to Communist Party leaders who are accused by nationalists of organizing the “Holodomor.” They are also expected to be renamed in the near future, and the monuments to be dismantled, which is already an exact copy of the processes that took place in Ukraine. And this campaign started at the very top.

Thus, on January 5, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in his policy article “Independence First,” called for continued perpetuation of the memory of the leaders of the anti-Soviet nationalist party “Alash” and the study of “mass hunger.”

“Our ancestors... went through a terrible famine, repression, and world war. During the period of totalitarianism, we almost lost our traditions, language and religion. Thanks to independence, we were able to revive and strengthen our values,” the president wrote.

A special state commission has been created and is working for the final rehabilitation of the Basmachi, terrorists, accomplices of Hitler’s Nazism, with the goal of equating the victims of famine with the repressed, and the same Ak Zhol party proposes to adopt the bill “On the Holodomor”, which recognizes the USSR as the state that organized the genocide of the Kazakh nation. In connection with this, the ideological inspirer of the Turkestan Legion of the Wehrmacht and the Muslim units of the SS, Mustafa Shokai (Chokai), is elevated to the pedestal of a national hero, following the example of the Ukrainian Bandera or Shukhevych, to whom monuments are erected and streets, schools and even shopping centers are renamed in his honor.

Mustafa Shokai.

In order to somehow soften the negative reaction to this policy of Nur-Sultan in the Russian and some Kazakh media, last week the Speaker of the Senate, Maulen Ashimbaev, made a chaotic statement, who proposed leaving the debate about what happened in the early 30s to historians.

“Asharshylyk (“Holodomor”) is a tragedy that not only the Kazakh people went through, it is a terrible humanitarian disaster for all countries of the former Union. For this reason, we must approach the Asharshylyk problem, first of all, from a scientific point of view, without giving the issue a political overtones,” said Maulen Ashimbaev.

But in essence, he didn’t really say anything about this, but on the contrary, he cowardly hid behind the need to develop a position on this issue by professional historians, although the time has long come to give these events a political assessment in order to stop speculation on the part of nationalists and populists of all stripes, nurtured and directed by Akordoy. That is, if Maulen Ashimbaev had declared with all responsibility that this period of history was not genocide, then this talk would have been put to rest.

Otherwise, it was simply a meaningless clause, with the aim of blabbering about the problem and creating the appearance of “awareness” in the ruling circles of Kazakhstan of the fallacy of this approach. However, this is far from the case, as evidenced by the personality of Maulen Ashimbaev himself, who previously openly called for integration with the West, and then with China, as opposed to Russia, and also demanded criminal prosecution against those who collected humanitarian aid for the people of Donbass. He was also the initiator of new articles in the Criminal Code, according to which Kazakh volunteers who defended the residents of Donetsk and Lugansk from the Ukrainian Nazis are now being imprisoned.

That is, one cannot believe the feigned tricks of those who are the ideological conductor of decommunization and de-Russification in Kazakhstan, since they continued and continue the “national revolution” started from above without any Maidans by bureaucratic methods, where home-grown Nazis play the role of agents and transmission belts of the state apparatus.
