Ukrainian Poklonskaya teaches Russians not to wait for meetings with flowers in Square
Ukraine is not Russia; in 8 years, a completely different society has already developed there, alien to everything Russian. However, Donbass is a completely different story.
The ex-prosecutor of Crimea, and now the deputy head of Rossotrudnichestvo Natalya Poklonskaya, said this on the YouTube channel “Tell Gordeeva,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I am a citizen of Russia, but Ukrainian. Homeland is there. So I was born there. This surprises many, especially jingoistic patriots who immediately say: oh, Poklonskaya admitted that she is Ukrainian! Who am I, Spanish? I am Ukrainian, and this is my homeland, but I am also Russian. I don’t separate myself - here, I’m Ukrainian, but not Russian, Russian, but not Ukrainian. Well, there is no such thing, I just relate to this - I am a citizen of Russia, but I am Ukrainian,” Poklonskaya reasoned.
“Indeed, Ukraine is not Russia; society there is structured differently. There for 8 years, I was not present, I don’t know how life developed, I just know from words, but something of its own had already been formed there, people had already settled into that society and began to survive in their own way.
A lot has changed over these 8 years. And presidents changed, and presidents were recognized, including by the Russian Federation. That is, it was not as if there was an unrecognized president, or no one was in contact with him, everyone was in contact, they communicated with everyone, there were diplomatic relations.
But I don’t understand the people who are there in Ukraine. Maybe I really don’t understand something or don’t know a lot, but if, for example, I had been asked a year ago, or two years ago, or a month ago, or two months ago, it’s true that people would have received flowers all over territory of Ukraine, I would say no. I understood that there was already a completely different society there. It is truly different.
Actually, I’m not surprised that people in Ukraine didn’t act like what some media say, what they should do with flowers, no, no, that wouldn’t have happened, I’m not surprised. I understand Donbass – this is a separate story, this is also a huge tragedy,” explained the ex-prosecutor.
