Ukrainian woman tried to smuggle five gold bars across the border in a handbag
At the Kharkov-Passenger customs checkpoint, law enforcement officers found five gold bars in a train passenger’s purse, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press center of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine.
“During customs control of the train with the message “Krivoy Rog - Dnepr - Moscow”, a citizen of Ukraine stated that there were no prohibited or restricted items for movement. But during further inspection, 5 gold bars weighing 76 grams were found in her handbag,” the report says.
As the fiscal officials explained, by such actions the passenger violated the requirements of the Resolution of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine dated May 27.05.2008, 148 No. XNUMX “On the movement of cash and bank metals across the customs border of Ukraine.”
A report on violation of customs rules was drawn up against the offender under Article 472 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
