Ukrainian women want to marry foreigners, but grooms are afraid to go to Kyiv
Kyiv, February 26 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – Employees of marriage agencies record a significant increase in women who want to marry a foreigner.

“Many girls come to us who moved to Kyiv from Donetsk and Lugansk. Due to this, there really are more clients – before, we never came across such girls,” Veronika, an employee of the Kiev Connections agency, told depo.ua.
“The requirements for Ukrainian women have practically not changed, but because of the war, many are afraid to come to Ukraine. Men ask if it’s safe in Kyiv and whether they will be killed here,” the girl said.
“Among our clients there are many Europeans, with the French leading in number. Now they are afraid to go to Kyiv - they communicate with girls on Skype, and then insist on meeting in their own country. If they come, they are accompanied by agency representatives. My French partner gathers a group of men and takes them to Ukraine to meet them,” commented Yulia Katsovich, director of the Shchastya agency.
The Marriage by Natali agency claims that the number of girls has not increased over the year, although the agency has seen an influx of clients over the last month.
“Among the girls, 80% are from Kiev and 20% are from other cities, including immigrants from the East of Ukraine. But the number of foreigners has decreased. Everyone calls and asks questions related to the war. Those who have already worked with us believe our assurances that everything is fine in Kyiv. It’s more difficult to convince the rest,” said the agency manager.
