Ukrainian women are overtaken by equality: Groysman will send women to mines and uranium mines

The government proposes to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to lift the ban on Ukrainian women working in hazardous and difficult working conditions and in underground work, as follows from the corresponding decision adopted at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

This was reported by Hubs.

As noted in the text of the bill initiated by the Cabinet of Ministers, it is proposed to abolish the article in the Labor Code that prohibits the use of women in heavy work and in work with harmful or dangerous working conditions.

In addition, the draft decision proposes to abolish the norm prohibiting the involvement of women in lifting and moving things whose weight exceeds the weight limits established for them.

The government also proposes that parliament denounce the International Labor Organization Convention on the Employment of Women in Underground Work in Mines of Any Kind No. 45.

It was previously reported that in Ukraine, 35% of company owners are women, and the share of female managers in general is 30%. The largest number of women run companies that are involved in comprehensive maintenance of facilities, public administration and the activities of public organizations.

In most industries, the number of male directors exceeds the number of female ones. The exceptions are education, the activities of trade unions, government administration and the functioning of libraries and archives.
