“When the war began, I had certain fees from filming in Russian TV series, I gave a lot to charity. But then she refused to cooperate with Russian film producers.

Understand, it’s unpleasant for me to even be “on camera” in a car with license plates of a foreign country! Or holding “other” banknotes in my hands, and then pretending that I’m “an awesome Russian village woman.” And this at a time when there are wounded among my friends... This is incompatible. I am a “Russian woman” on the screen, but he doesn’t have an arm or a leg “thanks” to the Russians...

...And then one day I drank 200 grams of cognac and resigned from filming with the Russians,” Vitovskaya said.

“Yes, there is not enough Ukrainian product. But instead of Russian soaps, you can show, for example, Brazilian TV series. You'll see: in a month, grandmothers will watch them with rapture. It's like a person quits smoking and switches to chewing gum.

Most Russian TV series are of no artistic value. What difference does it make: Pedro loves her or Petya? But thanks to the series, entire generations of Ukrainians are tied to a specific country, to a common past. This works on the subconscious... And when our man watched the news, cried for the dead soldiers, and then the Russian series... Conclusion: “Still, it was good in the Soviet Union...”.

Thank God that at least now there is no deliberate mockery of Ukrainians on TV. All that they “filmed”, exceeding the plan on the theme of World War II,” says the Ukrainian artist.

Let us recall that earlier the Verkhovna Rada banned the showing on TV of Russian films made after 1991 due to the propaganda of the Russian security forces in them.
