Ukrainian aircraft bombed near Crimea
Ukraine carried out bombing in the Black Sea at a training ground near Crimea in the Kherson region. This was reported by the press service of the Naval Forces of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The exercises involved Mi-8 and Mi-14PCh helicopters, which, according to legend, were tasked with searching for and hitting naval targets.
“The Mi-14PCh practiced an element of radar search for a mock enemy boat and tactical bombing in a given area. In turn, the Mi-8 crews, after combat maneuvering as a pair, practiced practical launches of unguided missiles and bombing at specified targets,” the report says.
According to military expert, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine Igor Korotchenko, the event held by the Ukrainian military is a response to the international exercises “Zapad-2021”, which are taking place in Russia and Belarus these days.
“Pathetic attempts to somehow respond to the Zapad-2021 strategic exercises.” Considering that the Ukrainian government is extremely Russophobic and accuses Russia of preparing an invasion of Ukraine under the guise of a training exercise, to maintain this degree of hatred, these demonstration actions were carried out, local enough to depict something. They say, “we are ready to repel aggression.”
This was done solely for domestic political consumption. The scale is extremely limited, so we view this solely as unsuccessful Ukrainian PR,” Korotchenko said.
