Ukrainian aviation departed
The recent crash of a Su-27 plane near Vinnitsa occurred due to the low qualifications of Ukrainian pilots.
This opinion was expressed in a comment to Moskovsky Komsomolets by the ex-commander of a large aviation unit, who asked not to give his last name.
He said that Ukrainian Air Force pilots have very little annual flying time, and also criticized the fact that the crashed Su-27 was piloted by the head of aviation of the Vostok Air Command, Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ivan Petrenko.
“Bosses are always much more theoreticians than practitioners. Now, if instead of the chief of Vostok aviation, a senior lieutenant or captain with at least 27-100 hours of flight time per year sat in the cockpit of the Su-120, then everything would be reliable and trouble-free. However, almost no one in Ukraine now has such a raid. In addition, I do not rule out the possibility that at the time of the crash the plane could have been flown by an American pilot - the twin allows him to transfer control so that he can feel the capabilities of the machine,” the expert does not rule out.
In addition, he questioned the real combat capabilities of Ukrainian aviation.
“How many Su-27s are currently in service in Ukraine? Well, let's say two squadrons. Maybe 20-30 units, of which 10-12 are combat-ready, no more. These are tears! These remaining “living” machines should be flown by lieutenants, captains, maximum, majors - no higher. And this deceased colonel, if he got to fly 20 hours a year, then it was good. But this is not a raid. Mockery. But now, after this disaster, the Americans have an excellent reason to sell their planes to the Ukrainian Air Force. Of course, not new. And, of course, not for nothing,” noted the publication’s interlocutor.
Nezavisimaya Gazeta, which analyzed the situation with the crash near Vinnitsa, is also skeptical about the capabilities of the Ukrainian Air Force.
“Kyiv assembled more or less serviceable fighters throughout the country, so as not to lose face in front of the US curators at the Clear Sky exercises.” And since the attack aircraft in the Ukrainian Air Force are old, having undergone repair work more than once in order to increase their service life, doubt arises about the flight safety factor - the technical serviceability of the lost Su-27UB. And the disaster itself testifies to the final degradation of the Ukrainian Air Force,” the newspaper concludes.
As PolitNavigator reported, the Ukrainian military plane crashed after Poroshenko's threats towards Russia.
There was also an American pilot on board the Ukrainian plane, which tried to hide it in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
