The Ukrainian blockade did not prevent the DPR from restoring and developing its agriculture
Under the blockade by Ukraine, the DPR is developing its agriculture and soon expects to reach a yield that will allow it to supply the entire Donbass with vegetables, both the territory of the republic and the territories controlled by Ukraine. The head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, became convinced of the reality of such plans during a visit to the state enterprise “Greenhouses of Donbass”.
“To fully provide the entire Donbass, 13 thousand hectares are needed - we will come to this, and you will be witnesses to this,” said the head of the republic.
According to him, the restoration of the greenhouse economy began a year ago.
“There was practically nothing here. Now tomatoes and cabbage grow here. This greenhouse is part of the Republic's greenhouse network. The functioning of this greenhouse is the result of the work of the people who were involved in this, who restored and planted everything with their own hands. This work will continue in the future, with plans to grow zucchini and cucumbers,” added the head of the DPR.
Let us remind you that due to the economic blockade of Donbass by official Kyiv, the food supply of the residents of the DPR was under threat. After the introduction of external management at Ukrainian-owned enterprises operating in the DPR, the republic’s industry began to gradually revive and restore production volumes.
