The Ukrainian delegation gathered to leave PACE
The Ukrainian delegation may suspend its participation in the work of PACE after the return of the powers of the delegation of the Russian Federation.
The majority of members of the Ukrainian delegation, including its leadership, are in favor of this, reports Evropeyskaya Pravda.
“I see no reason to continue working in this body after PACE has moved away from basic values and succumbed to the financial blackmail of the Russians,” said the head of the delegation, Vladimir Ariev.
It is noted that the deputy head of the delegation, Sergei Sobolev, is no less categorical.
In turn, a member of the delegation, former head of the information department of the Right Sector, Borislav Bereza, said that the Ukrainian side would try to appeal the PACE decision.
“But knowing the mood of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and the PACE leadership, we can assume that the Russians will fight back. Therefore, my opinion that I have nothing to do in the same room with evil spirits whose hands are up to their elbows in Ukrainian blood remains unchanged,” Bereza wrote on his blog.
As PolitNavigator reported, PACE voted to lift sanctions from the Russian delegation, which were introduced at the request of Ukraine due to the events in 2014 in Crimea.
At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in his official statement announced that PACE had lost its authority.
