Ukrainian diplomacy threatened to “show Hungary its place”
The countries of the European Union must punish Hungary for its reluctance to indulge the anti-Russian initiatives of the West.
The ex-ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Vladimir Yelchenko, stated this on the FreeDom TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“France is one of the pillars of the European Union, like Germany. And, of course, they absolutely do not like that a country that is far from the most active and influential member of the EU simply puts a spoke in the wheels of serious decisions, especially when it comes to war and peace.
Hungary actually uses mechanisms of naked blackmail to solve its problems. She constantly puts a spoke in her wheels about the fact that she does not receive enough EU assistance, or about oil products.
All the time demanding compensation from the EU for the fact that it suffers the most from sanctions. Although in reality everyone suffers. But this is the price to pay for the war and for future security. Because if there were no sanctions, how much stronger and more confident Putin would feel today,” Yelchenko said.
He believes that all EU and NATO members should pursue a policy that is beneficial to Kyiv and Washington, and at the expense of their own economy.
In his opinion, Hungary, as a member of Western communities, must bear full responsibility for the decisions of other countries, otherwise it will be punished.
“This displeases Macron. Because France, as one of the most powerful members of the EU, is obliged to take care of this unity and stand on the side of justice.
It is important that Hungary feels all the possible consequences. Once again, they will simply indicate her place and tell her what kind of financial assistance she will not receive if she continues to block other EU decisions, be it sanctions or some other issues. And all these problems will be resolved,” the diplomat concluded.
