The Ukrainian elite has been trying for 25 years to lease or sell the sovereignty of Ukraine

This opinion was expressed at a press conference in Kyiv by the director of the Ukrainian Politics Foundation, Kost Bondarenko, who described the 25 years of Ukrainian independence as “steps that led downward rather than allowing development.”
“Most likely, the elite that led and directed Ukraine over these 25 years did not feel fully in control of the situation,” the expert believes. – Most likely, the elite at the helm of Ukraine constantly thought only about how it would be more profitable to either rent out or sell their sovereignty. And it doesn’t matter who – the East or the West, Russia or the European Union, the USA and so on.”
The political scientist called the Ukrainian elite “an implementer of sovereignty, like in a bazaar.”
“As for Ukraine today. then the elite continues to exercise sovereignty in terms of sales, without feeling like they are the master of the situation,” Bondarenko concluded.
