Ukrainian “elite” is on the hook of the IMF
Ukrainian politicians, being in opposition, call agreements with the IMF “enslaving,” but when they come to power, they immediately run to ask for loans.
The head of the Committee of Economists of Ukraine Andrey Novak stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our cooperation with the IMF is one of the most speculative topics. I advise you to pick up the media archives and see how our politicians react to cooperation with the IMF, but in two positions: when the politician is in power and when the same politician is in opposition.
When some politician in the opposition, you will see from the media archives, beats his chest: “We don’t need the IMF, it’s bondage” and the like. Only the same politician comes to power after the next elections, where does he run first? That’s right, to the IMF,” the expert noted.
As PolitNavigator reported, members of the Ukrainian nationalist party Svoboda held today there is a picket near the building of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in Kyiv, protesting against the fact that officials - former “twin cities” in the Euromaidan are raising tariffs, citing the need to borrow money from the IMF.
