Ukrainian Themis took the mayor of Lvov by the gills
The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office announced suspicion of abuse of power to the mayor of Lvov, Andrei Sadovoy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The mayor himself announced this on his Facebook page.
“Kholodnitsky’s prosecutors just handed me a message of suspicion. What is it about? In 2015, the city of Lviv attracted an investor, the CTP company, through an open investment competition. We received UAH 54 million for the land from this company. There was a field where cows were grazing. The company should build an industrial park on this field.
From 2015-2016 onwards - blocking on all sides. At the level of government, the Prosecutor General's Office... During that time, CTP built parks in Romania and other countries. It is the third largest investor in industrial property. They intend to create three thousand new jobs here in Lviv. Since then, since 2016, prosecutors have been traveling and investigating. The earth is standing. These are the realities of our time, we will fight and we will win,” he said.
At the same time, according to the source of Ukrainskaya Pravda, Sadovy gave the land to the region, and the park should be in the city.
“Law enforcement officers have the conclusion of the State Audit Service, an expert’s opinion, testimony of witnesses who even quit their jobs so as not to sign illegal decisions,” the publication’s source noted.
Back on November 15, 2016, searches were carried out in the Lviv City Council as part of this case, and in July 2017, Sadovoy was summoned for questioning to the prosecutor’s office regarding this matter.
Ukrainian lawyer Andrei Portnov called the presentation of suspicion to Sadovoy “good news.”
“The defendant says he is not guilty. Mr. person involved, the jacked-up Channel 24, which belongs to you, has been turning innocent people into guilty for six years, dismantling criminal fakes, lying and creating information support for repressions and falsifications. Therefore, don’t whine if you turned out to be a thief. We will monitor your case so that there is a good preventive measure and a fair sentence,” Portnov wrote in his Telegram channel.
