The publication notes that decommunization continues in Ukraine, as a result of which the names of settlements are being massively renamed.
“However, at the same time, some communist myths not only do not disappear, but also spread further; they become visible in completely objective forms - in the media, in the names of companies, in the names of public organizations - the publication is indignant. – Let’s say, in September, on the website of the Lviv “Express” you could read the headline of an information message: “The pulse of the first capital. Over the past two years, Kharkov has started speaking Ukrainian.” Did you notice? Kharkov is the “first capital”. The wording dates back to Stalin's times. And if earlier this phrase appeared in the names of public organizations (of a certain type) and various kinds of business structures, now, as we see, it has reached the so-called “capital of Ukrainian Piedmont.”
The newspaper writes that Kharkov became the capital of the Ukrainian SSR, continuing to be in this status until 1934.
“So should anyone be proud of the fact that Kharkov was the puppet “first capital”, determined by the Bolsheviks first to oppose independent Ukraine, and then to erase the very memory of it and to “clean up” the Ukrainian SSR from “dangerous elements, that is, for carrying out a policy of genocide?” the author of the publication is indignant.
