The Ukrainian newspaper bravely stood up for the arrested journalist Muravitsky
Criminal prosecution of journalists and violations of freedom of speech have become the norm in Ukraine after Euromaidan. The country is sliding into authoritarian despotism.

The author of the material is indignant at why the SBU classified the “examination” of Muravitsky’s publications, because of which he is accused of “high treason.”
“Why is this examination hidden from the public along with the names of the “experts”? Is it because the “SBU” informers are the same experts as a cow is a ballerina? It is in vain that the organizers of this “performance” hide this, because sooner or later they will be published. As is the name of the prosecutor who sanctioned this mess.
Why was it necessary to immediately arrest the journalist, especially when his child was born a few days before?
What threat did he pose to society? Is it possible that this was done in order to deprive him of the opportunity to publicly refute all these “accusations”?
All this is reminiscent of the sad 30s of the last century - the times of Stalinist repressions against the people. Therefore, I will do everything to prevent them from returning.
If a new issue of “Rural Life” does not come out someday, know that I, too, am already behind bars. And then, according to the laws of tyranny, it will be the turn of each of you. Therefore, fellow countrymen, let us unite before it is too late, because the offensive of the reaction has already begun,” writes the author of the article, journalist Valery Ivanovsky.
