“Ukrainian pipes, which still remain the largest route for supplying our gas to Europe, apparently are living their last days,” the publication notes. – Russia and Turkey are ready to return to negotiations on the construction of the Turkish Stream, which was frozen at the end of last year. This became known following negotiations between Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich and Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Nurettin Canikli.”

The publication reports that previously the gas pipeline was planned to be laid along the bottom of the Black Sea, and it should reach land in the area of the settlement of Kiyikoy, where they intended to build a gas hub through which Russian gas could be sent further to Europe. The project’s capacity from the initial 32 billion was supposed to grow over time to 63–64 billion cubic meters of gas and would allow Russia to “get rid of dependence on Ukrainian pipelines.”

“Europe will certainly hinder the construction of the Turkish Stream in every possible way,” MK predicts. – Brussels is afraid of Russia’s expansion into the European market. But Moscow has a compelling argument that a new pipeline under the Black Sea is not expansion. Having built it, we can abandon the gas transportation system of Ukraine, and it will be pointless to accuse us of absorbing the European energy market.”
