According to the cyber police, in order to ensure compliance with Petro Poroshenko’s decree banning Russian social networks that are objectionable to the authorities, it has developed a number of recommendations for enterprises, institutions and organizations of all forms of ownership.

Thus, employees of the Cyber Police Department note such blocking methods as blocking by IP addresses, using DNS and by URL. Among them, police officers point out that the most effective method is blocking resources by blocking an IP address. Moreover, setting up equipment according to such recommendations does not require additional financial costs or the purchase of equipment.

The cyber police draws the attention of users to the fact that recently, specialized browsers have been rapidly spreading on the Internet using aggressive marketing techniques. They, under the legend of providing the opportunity to overcome access restrictions to blocked resources, actually gain full access to the operating system and the user’s personal data. In the future, the information obtained by attackers can be used by them at their own discretion. In addition, they will thus be able to use users' computers for illegal activities.

Let us remind you that the cyber police announced that they will respond to reports of the continued operation of websites to which access is limited.

The Cyber Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine recommends that providers use the following methods:

a) blocking by IP addresses;

b) blocking using DNS;

c) blocking sites by URL.

The police draw attention to the fact that the most effective method from this list is the method of blocking by IP addresses and gives examples of equipment setup to implement each of these methods.
