Corruption, Crimea, Russia, Sevastopol

The leader of the Russian Bloc, Gennady Basov, had to spend a long time under arrest - he claims that he paid for trying to destroy the corruption schemes formed back in Ukraine in the funeral services market of Sevastopol. The hero city already has its third Russian governor, but the Ukrainian cemetery mafia is still “on horseback,” Basov writes in his column.

...It is necessary to briefly explain the scheme that has been operating in the cemeteries of Sevastopol since the times of Ukraine and provides shadow income to businessmen, dishonest officials and “werewolves in uniform.”

When a Sevastopol resident experiences grief, a person close to him dies, he is sent to the cemetery, where businessmen who profit from Sevastopol residents with impunity and illegally are already waiting for him.

Every deceased person in Russia is entitled to a free burial plot. However, in reality this is not entirely true. Officials and entrepreneurs use the following scheme. The relative of the deceased is sent to the cemetery, and here everything depends on whether he has money or not.

If there is money and the relative is willing to pay, then he will be directed to the right entrepreneur, who will carefully show the burial places to choose from. And if there is no money, then you won’t envy such a relative; they will get a place in such a “ass” that you can’t imagine anything worse.

At the same time, no one will ask for payment for a place in the cemetery; they will politely explain the need for expensive services from a specific entrepreneur. If the money is paid, then the cemetery workers send a request to the department of municipal services of Sevastopol for the site chosen by the relatives of the deceased. Department officials, probably stimulated in a certain way, essentially, retroactively, issue permission for such a burial.

This was the case under the previous governor, Dmitry Ovsyannikov, and this continues under Mikhail Razvozhaev, who hopes to win the elections in September and get rid of the “acting” prefix.

The scheme described above provides significant income - it’s good for officials, because all this is put on stream, and it’s good for entrepreneurs who earn money in this scheme. But the residents of Sevastopol, who lost their income and jobs during the pandemic, are feeling sick of it.

Readers will probably ask: haven’t they really tried to deal with the cemetery mafia?

In 2015, after the arrival of Russia, a certain Kuzin, the director of a city enterprise working in the field of funeral services, was fired. This gentleman led a city utility company in the field of funeral services in Ukraine for more than fifteen years. And at that time, probably, only the lazy did not talk about the extortions organized by the funeral mafia, led by government and law enforcement agencies.

So there you go! After Kuzin’s dismissal, two people were appointed one after another to the position of director of this enterprise, but they also went to jail, one after another, at intervals of six months. And even then, many began to ask the question that these landings were not accidental, but that this place itself was being prepared by some “werewolves in uniform” for the right person.

To the surprise of many, this same person was Kuzin!

There was an opinion that this appointment was the subject of behind-the-scenes agreements between Governor Menyailo and senior employees of the Sevastopol prosecutor's office.

This is supported by the fact that has become public knowledge that the prosecutor of the Nakhimovsky district of the city of Sevastopol, Gogolev, offered the second of the directors appointed and then sent to prison to hire him as a deputy entrepreneur working in the field of funeral services. And after the refusal received, a criminal case was initiated against the director, where the above prosecutor became a state prosecutor! Moreover, the Sevastopol prosecutor’s office and the court do not see anything wrong with this!

But let's return to the unsinkable Cousin, who returned to his original place. The guardians of the law had no questions for the master. However, already under the governor of Sevastopol Ovsyannikov, unsightly information surfaced about schemes in the funeral services market.

Moreover, according to my information, it was not the security forces who extracted this information, but the volume of this information was such that even Mr. Ovsyannikov, who had a very disregard for corruption legislation, was forced to take action.

But – evaluate the level of the game! According to my information, Mr. Kuzin was fired, but almost the next time he was hired again, to the same position! A kind of “trick of the ear”, today he fired a corrupt official, and tomorrow he hired him, but now clean before the law and the city.

Unfortunately, I repeat, under the new leader of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev the situation has not changed for the better.
