Ukrainian marines suffer losses in Donbass - they are thrown to the front line without training
The Ukrainian Marine Corps is suffering losses in the Donbass due to additions in documents with which army officials are trying to hide the acute shortage of personnel.
The head of the Ukrainian Military Portal, Taras Chmut, stated this on air on the Skrypin Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, in the Ukrainian group in Donbass there is a colossal understaffing; ordinary sailors and soldiers of the coastal troops are being drafted into marine reconnaissance. They are only nominally tested for combat capability and sent to a combat zone where explosions, clashes and death occur.
“There is low individual combat training, and the units are staffed with everyone. Including those seconded, for example, from 2016 to 17, about 40% of the personnel of the reconnaissance platoon of this very battalion were seconded not from the Marine Corps, but from ships and other coastal units. That is, people who, in principle, have nothing to do with intelligence, were seconded to intelligence.
Now there is exactly the same trend. Because there is a large deficit, understaffing is covered, no one checks the real coherence of the units and the skills of the personnel. According to the papers, all 3/4 are assessed as “combat ready, ready to carry out missions”, personnel are deployed to the execution area, once every 50-100 exits there is an explosion, contact, losses - and then, instead of drawing conclusions, the culprits are found - either the highest authorities, or those who went. There is never any middle level,” Chmut said.
