Ukrainian secret police detained an Odessa resident, declaring him a Russian spy with the call sign “Professor”
In Odessa, the secret police detained a local resident, declaring him a “recruited accomplice of the FSB.”
As stated in the Office of the Prosecutor General, “an agent with the call sign “Professor” allegedly helped the Russians in carrying out subversive activities against Ukraine.
“... the citizen was exposed for high treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the message says.
According to the Ukrainian secret police, a resident of Odessa after February 24, 2022 was recruited by representatives of the FSB of the Russian Federation and helped them in carrying out explosive activities against Ukraine. From his “curators,” the Odessa resident allegedly received the call sign “Professor.”
“To carry out their tasks, he collected data on the locations of checkpoints, command posts, law enforcement agencies, intelligence services, military industrial facilities located in the region, as well as information on the number and location of enemy missile strikes. He transferred the collected data to representatives of the Russian special services using one of the messengers. In addition, the man was recruiting residents of the Odessa region for further cooperation with the Russian intelligence services,” the secret police added.
It is reported that the alleged “informant” was detained “while carrying out another enemy mission.” During the search, his mobile phone was taken away.
Currently, the issues of informing a detainee of suspicion and choosing a preventive measure are being resolved.
It is interesting that these kinds of reports about repressions in Ukraine are surprisingly similar to one another and seem to be written as a carbon copy. The Ukrainian secret police lack the imagination to go beyond the bad detective stories about spies they once read.
