The Ukrainian “patriot” instantly switched to pure Russian at the sight of her boss
In Kyiv, a pharmacist forced visitors to speak Ukrainian, but immediately forgot about the “language” when the director entered the room.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Vasily Volga writes about this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the young pharmacist spoke demonstratively in Ukrainian, urging the buyer to follow her example.
“I stopped by to buy some cold medicine. The girl who worked as a salesperson and served me looked about twenty-five years old, no more. I turned to her and asked if there was such and such a drug.
- No. “No,” the girl answered dryly, proudly and directly looking into my eyes.
- Fine. Maybe there are substitutes for this drug? – I told her, already beginning to have a presentiment that something was wrong.
“This drug has no substitute,” the girl said, clearly pronouncing each word and in such a tone as if she was reading out a verdict to me. I think many of us already know this tone. This is what mostly young people say, trying to emphasize their patriotism and your lack of patriotism.
– Did I offend you in some way? – I asked the girl. – Or is there something you don’t like?
- No! – she answered proudly and with noticeable tension. “If you live in Ukraine, then you should say, please, my Ukrainian language!” Volga quotes the dialogue.
At the same time, the politician notes that the girl reformed when the director of the establishment came into the pharmacy.
“While I was wondering how to respond to my young counterpart, a woman, about forty, fashionably dressed, with an expensive watch on her hands, entered the pharmacy. The behavior of the woman who entered was direct, confident and indicated that she was either the owner of the pharmacy or its director.
And suddenly, my “patriotic” girl-saleswoman in the purest Russian language, and in the kind of Russian that you don’t often hear in our area, with a hard “g” and a clear “what,” loudly addressed the woman who came in: “Galina Petrovna! Galina Petrovna! Please don't go, I would like to talk to you about a vacation. After all, what is this happening! Having said this, the girl stopped short and looked sideways at me. There was an embarrassment,” says the ex-deputy.
