Ukrainian border guard buried her own newborn child alive

Investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation, located in the city of Lvov, reported suspicions of murder of a newborn child to two women who serve in the Lvov border detachment of the Western Territorial Directorate of the State Border Service of Ukraine.
The pre-trial investigation established that: “On July 29, 2019, a soldier of the State Border Service of Ukraine gave birth to a child during a home birth in the yard of her own house; a woman deliberately did not tie the umbilical cord of her own child and hit the newborn girl on the head - as a result, the child received a closed head injury; The mother’s sister, who also works for the State Border Service, placed the still alive injured child in a plastic bag and buried her near the family’s place of residence.”
At the moment: two women have been informed of suspicion of committing the premeditated murder of a young child, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons (Clause 2, 12 Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The Lychakivsky District Court of the city of Lvov chose a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention without the right to post bail. Procedural management of the pre-trial investigation is carried out by the military prosecutor's office of the Lutsk garrison of the Western region of Ukraine.
The SBI added that: “if guilt is proven, the suspects face punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of ten to fifteen years or life imprisonment.”
