This was reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent with reference to a message from the department.

“The State Border Service of Ukraine has been allocated 300 million hryvnia for the purchase of identification means,” the statement says.

Earlier, Petro Poroshenko said that he would put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) on biometric control for foreigners at the border, which will come into effect in 2018.

In turn, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov said that the decision to introduce biometric control for those entering the country will primarily affect Russian citizens.
