This was announced by the assistant to the head of the State Border Service Oleg Slobodyan.
“For 2017, 200 million UAH were allocated, so work (on the implementation of the “Wall” project on the border with the Russian Federation - ed.) will continue in the Lugansk region and in the Kharkov region. Now the work has been suspended because there is snow and this is rough terrain, making it difficult for equipment to work in such conditions. As soon as weather conditions allow, work will be resumed immediately,” Slobodyan said.
According to him, there is no suspension of work.
“If it weren’t for the weather, the work would have been carried out. There is no suspension, stopping of funding or stopping the project itself,” the official assures.
He also stated that in 2016, 200 million UAH were allocated for the implementation of the “Wall” project, which were fully used.
“The work continued in the Kharkov and partly in the Lugansk region,” he said.
