During the rallies held in honor of May 1, Ukrainian law enforcement officers did not hesitate to detain pensioners.

Thus, in Odessa, an elderly woman came into conflict with radicals who attacked a May Day demonstration, after which she was detained by police, from whom the pensioner had to fight off with a flag pole.

According to the Odessa website vgorode.ua, the pensioner “hit one of the patriots, Igor Rezun, on the head with a flag pole.” Note that not so long ago Rezun smashed the head of the GUNP in the Odessa region.

However, the Odessa resident was not the only pensioner detained in Ukraine during the May Day events.

In Dnepropetrovsk, the police drew up an administrative report on a 79-year-old woman who was found to have a St. George ribbon tied to her bag, Radio Liberty reports, citing the regional police department.

It is noted that the woman was detained in the city center, where an action of one of the political forces and trade unions was taking place.

“Woman in 1939. She was on her own, not in a column. She didn’t call for anything. An administrative protocol was drawn up against her under Article 173/3 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences. The article provides for punishment with a fine of 50 to 150 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens. With the confiscation of the St. George ribbon,” said regional police spokeswoman Olga Kuznetsova.

Let us remind you that the use of St. George ribbons in Ukraine is prohibited by law.

As PolitNavigator reported, May 1 in Odessa there was a strange “attempt” on the former leader of the local Right Sector Party.
