Ruslan Bortnik, head of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.
“At one time, the president made a promise to Firtash - he didn’t fulfill it, then he made numerous promises to the Ukrainian people - he didn’t fulfill it, he made promises to Kolomoisky - he didn’t fulfill it, he made promises to Western partners - he didn’t fulfill it,” the expert noted. – It’s already like in that fairy tale about the bun. He left his grandmother and grandfather, but the fox, it seems to me, is already on his nose - a kind of ferret when specific demands are made in response to these promises.”
According to the political scientist, the president’s failure to fulfill his promises, “starting from Firtash and ending with Minsk,” leads “to a serious political crisis in Ukraine.”
“The system is on the verge of serious change,” Bortnik added. – External and internal factors are pushing us towards this. If the system does not change within the framework of legal procedures, elections, referendums and everything else, then at one point it may collapse like a house of cards, with very unforeseen consequences, which could lead us to a very radical scenario. And it’s not for nothing that we are preparing various radical projects to seize the palm.”
