The head of the special investigations department of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, Sergei Gorbatyuk, stated this in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe”.
Journalists recalled that he had previously stated that “representatives of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation came and were interested in information on the Maidan, and also held consultations with employees of the SBU and the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” and asked whether there were any suspicions about the “Russian trace” on the Maidan.
“Indeed, there was assistance in consultations, but the problem is how far these consultations went. And this is also a problem of testimony, because no documents were drawn up on this matter. It all comes down to testimony, which for the most part the representatives of the SBU who were in contact with them do not give. Therefore, today we are talking about the presence of consultations, but we cannot talk about instigation or complicity, which led to the commission of crimes, precisely on the basis of the collected evidence.
Accordingly, there are no suspicions about this, but this direction continues to be worked out. We hope that we will still give a final assessment of their actions,” Gorbatyuk does not lose hope.
