Ukrainian propaganda begins a campaign to humanize the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Today, at the Ukrinform press center, the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine held a presentation of “communication projects to popularize the Ukrainian army.”
During the briefing, a propaganda video and posters were presented, which are planned to be sent to the front and to military registration and enlistment offices, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The series of videos is that the military are ordinary people with personal lives, presented in this video as the same as us. The slogan “I am the army” reflects that the army is a family,” Sofia Dzhurynska, the chief specialist of the sector for promoting Ukraine in the world of the Ukrainian Ministry of Investment and Innovation, commented on the video.
As for the propaganda posters, according to those present, the country was not ready for war, and it is impossible to look at the 2014 posters without pain.
“We all walked the streets and looked at war posters at the beginning of the war. If you remember what happened in 2014, it was a little embarrassing. There was something hurriedly done and clearly not just by a military man, but by a military-Soviet man. It was a photograph of an abstract guy in a uniform with a cutout on his face, which actually looked like he came out of a Stalinist poster, and with some absolutely clerical quote from an official.
We saw that a hybrid war had begun, the enemy was ready for it, but we were not very ready, even so much so that we could not effectively support our mobilization campaign with propaganda materials,” said Dmitry Tregubov, editor-in-chief of the Peter and Mazepa publication.
“We want to show: “The army is Ukraine,” and where the army is, there is Ukraine,” said Dmitry Podturkin, co-owner of the publication.
“The army is not only power, strength and a military component, but there is also a humanitarian part. I would like to present other works that say the same thing: people are fighting there, guys like us are fighting there,” said one of the authors of propaganda posters, Dmitry Muravsky, during the presentation.
