By declaring Christmas, celebrated according to the Gregorian calendar on December 25, as an official holiday, Ukraine took a step away from what is called the “Russian world.”

The magazine “Kraina” writes about this.

“Ukraine, by proclaiming Christmas according to the Gregorian calendar as an official holiday, has taken another small step away from the “bad caricature” called the “Russian world,” the publication claims. “However, we must admit: the path that it still has to go to “Europe”, to the real assimilation of local legal, political and moral-ethical values, is much longer than the one that Ukraine has already overcome, leaving bloody skin on the bony hands of President Putin and Patriarch Kirill."
