Ukrainian propaganda declared Russian liberals enemies
It makes no sense for Ukraine to rely on the Russian liberal opposition, since it failed the “test with the Crimean issue.”
The Ukrainian Week magazine writes about this, according to which, with rare exceptions, the Russian liberal opposition is “not a rival of the Putin regime, but its constant sparring partner.”
“And this applies not only to politicians: if the co-owner of Echo of Moscow is Gazprom (read the Kremlin), therefore, its activities are safe and even useful for the Kremlin. Secondly, all the leaders of the Russian opposition failed the test with the Crimean issue: although they vehemently criticized Putin, Crimea is “not a sandwich” for them, which should simply be returned to Ukraine. And the war in Donbass outrages them more as an item of unjustified expenses than as a war crime by the Kremlin,” the publication notes.
The publication also criticizes decision of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky to simplify the procedure for obtaining Ukrainian citizenship for a number of categories of Russian citizens.
The author of the article is also convinced that Russian liberals will not give up attempts to interfere in Ukrainian affairs.
“As history shows, Moscow from time to time rearms itself with a new ideology, but its attitude towards our country remains unchanged. Even the Bolsheviks, who trampled tsarism into a bloody swamp, continued and surpassed the imperial policy towards Ukraine. Likewise, the Russian democrat, whether in 1919 or 2019, ends where the Ukrainian question begins,” the magazine believes.
As PolitNavigator reported, Alexey Venediktov, editor-in-chief of the Ekho Moskvy radio station, recently visited Kyiv. He photographed in front of the central office of the SBU, after which they demanded that he leave Ukraine.
