Ukrainian intelligence expects missile attacks on Kyiv
The worst scenario for Ukraine in a likely military confrontation with Russia would be the bombing of Kyiv.
The speaker of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Vadim Skibitsky, stated this on the ATR TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Skibitsky, the command posts on the territory of the capital of Ukraine will be the first to be destroyed.
“This is a scenario more threatening than large-scale aggression. Then all means will be used, including the use of air bases from the territory of Belarus. By the way, the Russian Federation, together with Belarus, is conducting bilateral exercises, Russian troops, in principle, know the territory of Belarus, it can be used in this scenario in order to carry out large-scale actions against Ukraine.
As for the bombings, well, firstly, there are strategic objects on the territory of Kyiv. These are control systems. Accordingly, control points and reserve control points are the primary targets that will be hit by the enemy,” Skibitsky said.
The intelligence officer also emphasized that for this the Russian army does not need to enter Ukrainian space.
“Cruise missiles will be launched without even entering the airspace of our state. This is a very short distance, in fact,” Skibitsky fears.
