Alexander Levtsun, head of sociological programs at the Sofia Center for Social Research, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, a 20% increase in prices, an increase in utility tariffs and unpopular laws adopted by the authorities are the reason for the growth of protest sentiments.
“The overwhelming majority, namely 79% of respondents, to one degree or another do not approve of the work of Petro Poroshenko as President of Ukraine. In September, this figure was much lower – 74,6%. The share of negative assessments has increased significantly. At the same time, the number of respondents who completely approve or rather approve of the president’s activities has decreased – from 21,5% to 13,2%. From September to October we observed a significant reduction in positive assessments of the president’s performance,” the sociologist said.
He also noted that the assessment of the Prime Minister’s work had also worsened.
“77% of respondents also categorically disapprove or rather disapprove of the work of Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman. In September, the same parameter was 74,2%. The share of positive assessments of the head of government also decreased from 20,8% in September to 14,8% this month,” Levtsun added.
