Ukrainian statistics: in two thirds of the regions, incomes are less than the subsistence level
The incomes of the population, especially in the regions, remain at an extremely low level, and the statements of officials about the growth in the welfare of Ukrainians are greatly exaggerated. In two-thirds of the regions last year, the average monthly income per capita was less than the level of the actual subsistence minimum.

Former first deputy prime minister of the times of Viktor Yanukovych, Sergei Arbuzov, wrote about this on his Facebook page.
“In a third of the regions of Ukraine, the average monthly income per capita in 2016 was less than $100, while the Ukrainian average is slightly higher and is only $119. In the vast majority of regions (with the exception of Odessa, Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk regions and the city of Kyiv), average monthly income per capita increased by less than 1 thousand hryvnia for the entire post-Maidan period 2014-2016. At the same time, the consumer price index for this period amounted to 190%,” he noted.
In two-thirds of the regions last year, the average monthly income per capita was below UAH 2862, i.e. less than the level of the actual subsistence minimum calculated by the Ministry of Social Policy in December 2016 prices.
The difference in living standards between Kyiv, whose residents traditionally have the highest incomes, and, for example, Transcarpathia, in 2016 reached a record level of 3,6 times for all the years of independence.
