“The Ukrainian side looked helpless and shameful”
The Ukrainian side, which disrupted the interrogation of Viktor Yanukovych in court today under the pretext of a nationalist protest, “looked helpless and shameful.” Kiev journalist Irina Tyran gives this assessment in her blog.

“The Ukrainian side looked helpless and shameful. They failed to deliver suspects in the main political case of the country from one place to another! Can you imagine something like this somewhere in Europe? And what stopped them - several dozen peaceful protesters? And where are the police and the military after all? Do they really not know how to fulfill their duty in a PEACEFUL way? Why then are they even needed at state expense? And why, when, say, activists did not allow the same Zaverukha to be taken out of the pre-trial detention center, they were able to take her to court, but in this case, well, in no way. Maybe they just don't want to?
What if, suddenly, these are provocateurs holding a rally who specifically want to disrupt the interrogation of Yanukovych, so that he does not say too much, does not name unnecessary names that are well-known and may even be in power? After all, the case is very important and resonant, the trial cannot be postponed, millions are waiting for it.
I'm shocked. From the outside, we have shown ourselves to be a weak, spineless state, where even suspects in such a high-profile case cannot be brought to court. Ugh.
The pre-trial detention center workers allowed the protesters to search the cars leaving there! Security forces in Europe and the United States will have a nervous breakdown with such information. By what right, may I ask? Can I come to the Cabinet of Ministers tomorrow and search the ministers as they leave; will they allow me too?” – the journalist is indignant.
