This year, the Kiev march in honor of the founding of the UPA, annually held by nationalists, became one of the calmest of all time. According to insider information from among the radicals, they are seriously frightened by the repressions launched against them by the Kyiv regime.

The main organizer of today’s event was traditionally “Svoboda”, a number of prominent activists of which found themselves behind bars after the bloody rally on August 31, which ended in the death of several National Guard soldiers. The corresponding visual propaganda also testified to the “brothers languishing in dungeons.”

The second significant force, judging by the number of party flags, was the Right Sector, although its leader, Verkhovna Rada deputy Dmitry Yarosh, for some reason ignored the event. And the PS itself, according to our sources, is going through hard times.

The role of the leader of the rally on Mikhailovskaya was taken by the notorious deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the previous convocation, Igor Miroshnichenko. According to him, we need to thank the UPA, thanks to which Ukraine supposedly gained independence. It is difficult to say what relation the defeated and ceased to exist military structure of the OUN, mired in squabbles and splits, had to gain independence. Moreover, the Svoboda member went on to say that, in fact, there is no independence today: “There is a state in form, but not in content.”

It is noteworthy that Miroshnichenko’s degree of radicalism has clearly decreased. He avoided talking, as earlier, about the need to continue the “revolution started on the Maidan.”

“The fact that we have gathered on St. Michael’s Square is another step towards the revival of spirituality and the resumption of social and national justice, when Ukrainians must become masters of their God-given land,” Miroshnichenko said.

The speech of Right Sector representative Andrei Sharaskin was not at all revolutionary (the “providnyk” Yarosh, as mentioned above, did not show up for the UPA march).

“You have all seen how many people have been brought here to protect our peace,” he drew attention to the large number of law enforcement officers on the streets adjacent to the square. “Friends, they shouldn’t have armed themselves like that, because we are having a peaceful protest.”

And no words to you about the regime of internal occupation, about the coming junta, Poroshenko’s betrayal, ultimatums, and so on, which were heard earlier at the rallies of both “Svoboda” and “Right Sector”.

All this looked more like a pre-election rally of “Svoboda” on the eve of local elections, which, by the way, “Right Sector” refused to participate in, which, according to our sources, became one of the reasons for dissatisfaction with Yarosh in the party.

I would not like to now discuss the holiday itself, which this year received official recognition for the first time and was even awarded a day off, but I would like to draw attention to one nuance. More precisely, to the open confession made by one of the UPA veterans, Vasily Kirilyuk, who was asked to remember what he “remembered about the times when he had to fight.”

“Partisans from Russia (and in 1942-1943 there was complete Ukrainian power there), 400 people, entered our forests to shoot and kill people,” he shared the details of some operation against Soviet partisans.

After the rally, there was a march, which was remembered only for the crash of either a firecracker, or an explosion, and traffic jams in the center of the capital.

To summarize, it seems that the realities of life of Ukrainian national radicals are such that without the support of the oligarchy and the authorities, they are not capable of not only a revolution, but also of an action that is more or less dangerous for the regime. Otherwise, they are quickly put into a stall. Moreover, the new regime looks much less accommodating than the previous one.
