“The series shows better than the analysis of politicians what we are experiencing in Ukraine: the illegal annexation of Crimea and Russian aggression in Eastern Ukraine,” said Klympush-Tsintsadze.
“But the country is also experiencing internal problems associated with radical nationalists,” the publication adds. – Despite the fact that few people supported them in the elections, they managed to achieve great power in today’s Ukraine. This power is so significant that the government has to put up with their decisions, confirms the deputy head of government. The paramilitary groups, in particular, were able to implement a complete blockade between rebel-controlled areas in eastern Ukraine and the rest of the country, stopping all transport moving to and from the east.”
At the same time, answering a question from ABC Nyheter, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the state did not want a blockade.
“We are talking about populists here. Yes, in our country there were also attempts to push the country to separate the occupied eastern territories. Only when the other side decided to expropriate Ukrainian companies, the government had to react in a way that it itself did not want to react,” said Klympush-Tsintsadze, explaining why the Ukrainian government nevertheless decided to legalize the blockade, which it itself opposed.
At the same time, the publication points out that it was the nationalists who “through their actions with the use of physical force managed to put an end to the exchange of goods,” after which the next step “was for the rebels to establish control over companies in their territories.”
