The Ukrainian authorities do not know what to do with Savchenko, who knows too much about the Maidan
The situation around Verkhovna Rada deputy Nadezhda Savchenko, who is suspected in Ukraine of preparing a coup, has baffled the Kiev regime.
This opinion was expressed by political experts interviewed by Moskovsky Komsomolets.
“Savchenko always talked a lot about what she saw on the Maidan, and this hurt the interests of Parubiy and others involved in the executions. The political persecution of Nadezhda is unprofitable for the current government. The fact that they killed themselves on the Maidan is talked about not only in Ukraine, but they also know about it in Europe, but now the personal interests of the authorities have taken precedence over the public ones. I don’t think that this will be useful, since it did not go beyond some marginal publications that published it, and now it will be brought to the international level. I think they will try to imprison her, we’ll see if it works,” predicts political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko.
In turn, the director of the Ukrainian Institute of Global Strategies, Vadim Karasev, believes that now Savchenko is facing a new stage in her political biography - a lawsuit against her and her exposure of the current government.
“Now everything will depend on what decision parliament makes and what evidence there will be against her. After all, it’s one thing to be tipsy in some company thinking about a coup d’etat, and completely different to plan a terrorist attack. The authorities will have to decide how to promote this topic. The difficulty is that Savchenko really knows a lot about Maidan and it is not clear how she will behave. Perhaps it would be convenient for the government for her to go abroad again and never return, but such a step can hardly be expected from her,” Karasev said.
As PolitNavigator reported, yesterday Savchenko said that she personally saw, how weapons were brought to the Maidan, and the current speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Parubiy, personally brought snipers into the “Ukraine” hotel. She later apologized to Parubiy, clarifying that she meant deputy Sergei Pashinsky.
