Economic expert Vsevolod Stepanyuk stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, answering the question why the colossal drop in living standards does not lead to mass protests in Ukraine.

“The people know that everything is bad, but they don’t know what to do,” the expert emphasized. – For example, local elections showed that the authorities are blocking the emergence of new political forces in every possible way. The authorities do their best to prevent people they don’t like from participating in elections. That is, a kind of cocoon of disinformation is being created in Ukraine so that people do not find out the truth. This is where the authorities are directing their main efforts, and so far they have succeeded.”
