The director of the consulting company “Party of Power”, Elena Dyachenko, drew attention to this fact during a press conference in Kyiv, commenting on the Ukrainian side’s calls for the creation of an international tribunal for Boeing.
“It is clear that this is an international war crime, and sooner or later an international tribunal will establish those responsible for this crime,” the expert believes. “As for the legal consequences, despite the fact that the Russian Federation blocked the creation of an international tribunal, there are other mechanisms, but this should be an initiative of Ukraine.”
“But Ukraine has not yet ratified the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court,” Dyachenko noted. – Let me remind you that the jurisdiction of the ICC includes war crimes. Why didn't they ratify? The “democratic coalition” has still not given a clear answer, but both Mr. Lutsenko and senior representatives of the “Popular Front”, if I am not mistaken, the Minister of Justice, said that we will not ratify, since it could be used against us. Considering the jurisdiction of the court, it turns out. that some kind of war crimes are implied that could be used against Ukraine.”
