Ukrainian military industry is practically dead
All that enterprises of the Ukrainian defense complex do is repainting old Soviet equipment and producing single copies of new ones.
Ex-Minister of Defense of Ukraine and former Prime Minister Yuri Yekhanurov stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is catastrophically little money allocated. Today our defense industry practically does not work, because basically what do they do? They take old equipment, paint it, install some new items like night vision devices or slightly better communications and send them off. And this is a big problem for us. We must understand that a modern army is not a question of numbers, but a question of equipment...
We saw ten Kozak vehicles at the parade, and you know that we need 3-4 thousand of them for Ukraine. There are 43 of them for our entire army. And these are modern weapons,” said Yekhanurov.
