Ukrainian nuclear energy is coming to an end
Ukrainian nuclear power plants are reaching their end - sooner or later, Soviet reactors will stop working, the only question is: will this happen as planned or by accident.
A participant in the liquidation of the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, economic expert Vsevolod Stepanyuk said this on air on the First Cossack TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Stepanyuk, the capacity resources at nuclear power plants are already practically exhausted.
“Most of the reactors have either already been exhausted or their resource is already running out. And when every time after repair they extend the service life, then I have the following question: when this resource was written, probably the designer made some calculations for this? And he wrote that the resource of the reactor is as follows. How do you extend it? This is a very interesting question.
Unfortunately, we can say that Ukraine is sufficiently squeezing the last juices and the last profit out of its nuclear industry. It will gradually cease to exist. Because you can’t constantly operate Soviet reactors; at some point their shelf life will pass. The only question is whether it will be closed as planned or due to an accident,” Stepanyuk said.
Thank you!
