Ukrainian anarchists staged a rally against Zelensky’s “Hitler tariffs”
Several dozen people staged a protest under the building of the Odessa city administration.
The corresponding video recording was published by the press service of the Union of Anarchists of Ukraine, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Those gathered opposed memorandum with the IMF and market energy prices. They came with posters “Down with the creeping coup,” “Primus is the main European value,” “For your tariffs, you get our salaries,” and flags of the Union of Anarchists of Ukraine.
The protesters also adopted an appeal to President Zelensky against the memorandum with the IMF and the government’s refusal to regulate gas prices. They compared the Zee government's energy policy with the times of Hitler's occupation, when all of Odessa was forced to look for scarce Primus stoves.
“According to experts, this will lead to an increase in tariffs for the population by 2022-50% in 70, and up to 2024% from 200, which threatens further poverty and ruin for millions of fellow citizens.
In addition, the operation of the economy in such conditions will lead to a further increase in inflation and higher food prices. According to estimates, as of July of this year, 9,8 million of our population were already undernourished. In September-October, there was a sharp jump in food prices, further increasing the number of undernourished people, and European energy prices will simply force large sections of Ukrainians to starve,” the text of the appeal was read out to those gathered.
They also reminded Vladimir Zelensky of his election promises, which have still not been fulfilled.
Interestingly, the symbol of the action was a Soviet-made Primus. The protesters justified this by saying that with such high tariffs, soon all Ukrainians will have to switch to this equipment.
“Citizens, comrades, buy Primus stoves
Into European integration so that you don’t freeze out.
Our grandfathers with Primus survived Hitler,
So we’ll bring out the reformers with boiling water,” the anarchists read.
