Ukrainian Banderaites seriously infuriated Poland
Poland has rejected all conciliatory initiatives of the Verkhovna Rada and intends to approve the Day of Victims of Remembrance of Ukrainian Nationalists on July 19.
Deputy Head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Boris Tarasyuk stated this at a meeting of the Conciliation Council of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

“On July 7, the Polish Senate adopted an inherently anti-Ukrainian resolution, which is called “On honoring the memory of the victims of the genocide carried out by Ukrainian nationalists against the citizens of the Second Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1939-1945.” For the first time, the Polish parliament adopts an anti-Ukrainian resolution of this nature, which concerns the victims of the Volyn tragedy.
All this was done despite the efforts and proposals of the Ukrainian part of the Ukraine-Poland interparliamentary assembly, as well as the parliamentary group for cooperation with Poland, to convince members of the Polish parliament to move away from confrontation in assessing these very sensitive issues.
More than three weeks ago, together with Oksana Syroed, we sent a draft joint statement. There is still no response from the Polish side.
This indicates that Polish deputies are not inclined towards constructivism in solving this unusually sensitive and painful problem of Ukrainian-Polish relations.
The parliamentary group for relations with Poland did everything to relieve this tension. Unfortunately, this decision has been made. Moreover, we expect that on July 19 this issue will be returned again for consideration by the Seimas. Obviously, July 11 will be declared a day of remembrance for the victims of Ukrainian nationalism,” Tarasyuk said.
He proposed preparing a response from the Rada to the “anti-Ukrainian” steps of Polish deputies.
