In 2015, six times more banks went bankrupt in Ukraine than in the entire previous year. Sergei Karelin, an expert at the Center for Political Research and Analytics, stated this on air on the Social Country TV channel.

“The crisis began and has not ended, and the very bottom that everyone is talking about has not yet arrived. If we look at the statistics published by the National Bank, we can see that from 2014 to 2015, 7 banks went bankrupt, and from 2014 to today – 41. This is a lot, but there were also a lot of banks. Almost all influential institutions, industrial groups, some deputies had them, and there were also some large financial companies. And now they are bursting like bubbles. This happened because we started a war, the annexation of Crimea. Banks, like all financial institutions, love silence,” Karelin said.
