This was stated by the Commander of the Ukrainian Naval Forces, Vice Admiral Igor Voronchenko. in an interview with the Odessa publication Dumskaya. This is how he answered the question about how high the likelihood is of a possible Russian landing on the coast, in particular, in the Tatarbunary district of the Odessa region.
“Such a danger exists, and our big disadvantage is that we do not have sea and coastal anti-ship missile systems. But there is coastal artillery (including multiple launch rocket systems - Ed.), which can quickly deploy and fight back at any point on the coast. I very much doubt that the commander of an enemy landing ship will give the order to land, knowing that powerful artillery will be fired at it from the shore. We have the necessary forces and means, we have calculated all threats, and we are ready to adequately respond to all machinations and threats,” said the commander of the Ukrainian Navy.
